My two loves

Here is Lucy entertaining Leon. I normally use my Flip camcorder but this time all I could grab fast enough was my Iphone. Excuse the fuzzy picture quality. I'm so grateful I caught this ever so precious moment that I will play every time I need a dose of happiness.
Make sure your volume is on to hear the cutest baby giggles.

Nub

Lucy just recently began sleeping with half her body under our bed. This is a picture I took while laying in bed. She has the cutest nub for a tail and the most petite 'lil paws. Oh miss Lucy- I'll never understand some of your quirks but I love you just the same.

miss you muttley

On our way to Emily & Todd's house to drop off Miss Lucy. Just look at how relaxed she is! She loves car rides. When the weather is right (which is most of the time in Los Angeles- except the last three days) I open the car window real wide so she can get a whiff of everything. The wind usually pushes up all her beard covering both her eyes but she doesn't mind it at all. Her nose is what's busy not her eyes. I love her... every bit of her furry self.

I'm going to miss you my dear Lucy. As soon as we return from Seattle I'll be coming to pick you up.

Play time

The last 4 months besides caring for Leon I've been very concerned about how well my 'lil Lucy will adjust to our newest member of the family. So far so good and it seems to only get better. Mornings are very busy for us. Leon is awake and ready to play and so is Lucy.

I did not know how to effectively teach Lucy that there are toys just for Leon. It's especially difficult because baby toys and doggy toys are very similar- mostly stuffed and squeeky and almost always end up scattered on the floor.

Well this morning Lucy proved that she finally gets it. She wandered towards Leon's basket of toys, buried her nose at a few places in the basket, turned around and went to her own basket of toys. She came back with her very own stuffed animal in her mouth and then nudged for me to play. I'm so proud of her. Lucy and I have always had a special bond and if reincarnations are real- then she must have been my true bff in a previous life.

Lucy

I met Lucy in 2003 at her breeder's home in Altadena, CA. That day I drove from work thinking "yeah, I'll just take a look at these puppies" not knowing that as soon as I lay eyes on her, I knew I would not leave without her. She was 4 months old then and this coming March 18, my girl will be turning 7 years old.
Having her changed my life. I learned that caring for another being other than myself is so much more rewarding. All of a sudden I had a more important purpose.
Lucy has been with me through ups and downs, never judged me and continue to give me- and now even my husband Chris, the most unconditional love.
I'm not sure exactly how she will be with our coming baby Leon- but one thing I know is that I'll definitely enjoy seeing them get to know each other as time goes by.
